World Wide Organization of Organic Farmers​

 

In the summer of 2012 I decided to take a trip down to Tennessee to learn more about small scale organic farming. I worked for two weeks on Spring Creek Farm in Oak Vally, TN.  Food justice has been a growing interest of mine and I wanted to see how people ate locally in rural areas.  My time on the farm was spent planting, seeding, watering, harvesting, weeding, feeding animals, and even selling produce at the Knoxville Farmers Market (photo to left).  I got to visit visiting farms and see how they differ in size and vision.  Overall, I got a
